Join the 2025 Color Our World Summer Reading Challenge and choose which of the four programs is the best fit: PreK, Elementary, Tween/Teen, or Adult. If you've participated in our reading challenges before, you'll just need to click a box to register.
All four of our library branches host monthly book clubs. Copies of the books are available at the host branch or via the catalog.
Library staff are able to assist people with their computer skills and electronic gadgets. We can assist you with general questions or training on specific library applications.

Homebound Adults

Staff provide personalized services to qualified individuals who reside in nursing homes, assisted living centers, or at home. To qualify for this service, one must be unable to leave the residence except for medical purposes or to attend religious services.

Recipients of this service must have a valid library card and are responsible for borrowed materials.

Licensed Home Care Providers

Providers of in-home child care located in Sandusky County and licensed by the Sandusky County Department of Job and Family Services may apply.  The Outreach Department will deliver a bag of books to your home for use with and by the children you care for as a licensed childcare provider. This service is for this purpose only. We do not deliver library materials for personal use or the provider's family's use.

Preschool Centers

The Outreach Department provides age-appropriate book collections to daycare centers and nursery schools in Sandusky County on a 3-week delivery and pick-up schedule.

Theme Kits may be reserved for use in the daycare center.

The Outreach Department offers storytimes in the classroom September through November and January through April.

Research

The main library offers a variety of materials and resources focusing on the history of Fremont and Sandusky County. Items include books, clippings, newspapers on microfilm, high school yearbooks, cemetery records, city and county directories, and more. Our branch locations also have a limited number of Sandusky County histories and local files.
